Many people are interested and excited about the performing arts and want to get involved! Often we feel blocked, though, due to challenges that we perceive or that others put on us. Sometimes we feel like we don't have enough experience or that we "aren't any good"... Other times we think a disability, diagnosis, or our financial circumstances will stand in the way. Not all groups understand, respect, and accept these circumstances and we feel like the door has been closed before we even enter the room.

This is frustrating... because active involvement in the performing arts improves people’s mental health and well-being by helping them become healthier – physically, mentally, and emotionally.

It's also so much fun!

The fact that we might not feel good enough can be the cause of us losing out on so many valuable opportunities, meaningful friendships, and personal successes.

Work in Progress is here for you – whether you have been a performer all your life or just want to try something a little different. We also host visiting guest artists, so our company members can experience different perspectives as they explore the performing arts. So far we've hosted choreographers, composers, ballroom dancers, authors, community artists, poets, and more!
Art is an essential ingredient to empowering the hearts of people, and the benefits of personal empowerment cannot be overstated. The arts also play a key role in the regeneration of areas whose residents are disadvantaged economically, socially, and culturally. Work in Progress is based in the centre of the most socially and financially challenged wards in Rhyl, one of the most deprived areas in Wales.
Our sessions are FREE, making the arts are accessible to all. We want our community and our company members to feel worthy, respected, and accepted. The arts are for us all.
Our fun, free sessions meet on most Wednesday evenings, 6:00-8:30pm
Unit 1 Bridge Business Park, Rhyl, LL18 2QA
Anyone aged 18+ is welcome!
